BCGEU members ratify agreement with provincial government

Members of the B.C. Government and Service Employees' Union (BCGEU) employed by the provincial government have voted 71 percent in favour of a new collective agreement. The announcement was made today by the union following two weeks of voting. 

The voting comes following a tentative agreement with government negotiators that was reached on March 29. Read more »

Five nominations were received for the three bargaining committee positions.  As a result, a vote will be held by “declaration ballot.” Each member will be sent a ballot, coin envelope, declaration envelope and balloting instructions.

Two-day BCGEU bargaining conference underway

The BCGEU’s bargaining conference kicked off today, December 1, in Burnaby. BCGEU President Darryl Walker opened the conference with remarks centred around securing fair collective agreements amid B.C.’s economic challenges.

Delegates will use their time at the conference to determine the BCGEU’s bargaining priorities in 2012. Read more »
