The Coalition of Child Care Advocates of B.C., in partnership with CCAAC (Child Care Advocacy Association of Canada), is announcing its new project called Child Care is a Right.
The project will explore Canada's international treaty obligations to women, children and families as they pertain to child care.
Among the goals of the project:
• conduct legal research to clearly draw out the implications of B.C.'s obligations under international treaties to protect children and women's rights for child care
• undertake public education about a rights based approach to women's and children's rights based on the research - with child care as the example
• advance concrete options for legal and other reforms that support B.C.'s compliance with its international obligations
