TERMS OF REFERENCE

  • the Committee’s goal is to increase awareness of international issues within BCGEU and the community, including the sponsorship of forums and meetings, and increased communication with members through Cross Component Committees and locals;
  • the Committee will endeavour to broaden contact and cooperation with women and men in other countries, and involve interested members in international solidarity activities and exchange visits;
  • the Committee will work, consistent with union policies, with other labour organizations and non-government organizations for improvements in education, social justice, trade union rights, human rights and standards of living of people in other countries;
  • the Committee will submit proposals to the Provincial Executive through the Executive Committee to fund projects from the BCGEU Diane L. Wood International Solidarity and Humanity Fund; and
  • the Committee will administer the funding of approved projects.
