It's National Medicare Week and what do we have show for it in British Columbia?
> Drastic cuts to health care funding to community service agencies across the province.
> The closure of seniors' programs and services.
> The elimination of much-needed services for our most vulnerable populations, particularly in the areas of mental health and addictions services.
Medicare was built on the principle of every citizen receiving the care they need, regardless of income or social status. Yet we are seeing our health care system methodically eroded by the BC Liberal government.
Thank you to all of the BCGEU members and community allies who turned out for the National Medicare Week rally this past Wednesday, November 18 at the Legislature in Victoria.

Hi Darryl. I have just heard that due to cuts already made by Gordon Campbell and his Liberals, National Medicare Week in BC can now only be referred to as National Medicare Hour!
