Community Social Services Awareness Month – Week 2

Community Social Services Awareness Month is now in full swing!

Last week's activities included municipal council presentations in Squamish and Gibsons, display tables at Terrace's Skeena Mall, a statement in the Legislature by children and families critic Maurine Karagianis, and membership meetings in Williams Lake, Quesnel and Prince George.

The following are just some of the activities and events taking place in communities around the province this week:

• A motion in the Legislature recognizing the value and importance of the community social services sector.

• A number of presentations to municipal councils, including presentations in Fort St. John, Port Coquitlam and Terrace.

• International Women's Day events in Fort St. John and Cranbrook.

• Membership meetings for community social services workers in various regions, including areas on Vancouver Island and in the Lower Mainland. For additional details on membership meetings, click here.

To get involved:

• Visit our campaign website by clicking here. You'll find plenty of event planning ideas, speaking notes, campaign posters, and other information and resources.

• Contact your steward or area office to see how you can work on the campaign in your community. For example, you may be able to help by making a presentation to a municipal council in your area, or by volunteering at a local event.
