BCGEU Equity Roundtable Network meeting, Sept. 9, Prince George

Workers of colour, GLBT, Aboriginal and workers with disabilities

When: Tuesday, Sept. 9, 5 - 8:30 pm (dinner provided)

Where: BCGEU Prince George area office, 1070 - 4th Ave.

The BCGEU has formed a series of networks of equity-seeking groups. BCGEU members who identify as Aboriginal workers, workers of colour, gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgendered workers or workers with disabilities are invited to join the BCGEU equity officer for dinner on Sept. 9 in Prince George.

Here's your opportunity to become part of the network.

Agenda items include:

· issues of importance to equity members related to the upcoming municipal, provincial and federal elections;

· opportunities to make a difference in our communities and workplaces;

· ways to engage members in our struggle;

· update on the union's work around equity and human rights, including plans for a fall conference.

RSVP required. Please respond by August 29, 2008 if a Leave of Absence is required, and by Sept. 3, if attending. Expenses can be claimed as per union policy. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.
